Invitation to 2nd online patient information sharing - St George’s Hospital Renal team

August 27 2020
Following the successful first online update and question & answer meeting between the consultants and patients, we are announcing a second meeting via Zoom. The meeting will be on Monday 7th September 2020 at 5:30pm. This meeting will cover PatientView & diet. Details follow:

An invitation to an online patient Q&A from the clinical team at St George's Hospital Renal Unit. Monday 7th September 2020 -  5.30pm

Dear Friend/Member of St George's KPA,

I would like to invite you to the second of our online meetings where patients have the opportunity to ask the renal team at St George's questions on renal-related topics. All the information you need to register & join the meeting is further down this email.

This meeting's agenda for Monday 7th September 2020 at 5:30pm will include:

  • An introduction to getting the most from PatientView
  • Your diet as a renal patient
  • Other general clinical questions

Firstly for those who didn't attend our first, well received meeting, I wanted to reiterate that you can join the meeting several ways (and people used all these methods last time) including:

Listening in from a phone if you don't have a computer/tablet/smartphone or are uncomfortable with those technologies. Phone numbers below.
You can just watch & listen only, if you don't have a webcam or microphone on your computer. You can also turn off your webcam and not be seen for privacy.
We hope to get the recording function working again and post it to our website after the meeting along with a summary.

Secondly, please let us have any questions (PatientView, diet, general) now so that we can let the clinical team know. It will make the logistics simpler on the day. But still feel free to ask them on the call using the chat function or email me as people did last time.

Thirdly, let us know if you have any particular expectations for the meeting or topics for future events so that we can try to accommodate them.

I  am asking that you register this time so that we can improve the security of the meeting and keep a track of who's attending. That should take less than a minute. As last time I will introduce the meeting and quickly familiarise you on how we will use the technology before handing over to the clinicians. This will be brief, so I will open the meeting 15 minutes early if you want a quick refresh on using Zoom.

Finally, as last time, we will conduct a short survey at the end of the meeting to gain feedback for future events. I look forward to "seeing you there".

Best wishes, Michael Greatorex
Chairman, St George's Kidney Patients Association.
