In a surprise move NHS England in association with Monitor have proposed cuts that the National Kidney Federation (NKF) has described "of major significance and we believe will have a potentially devastating impact for the care of our patient community, their quality of life and length of life." It appears that these cuts are being pushed through under the radar with little obvious consultation in contravention of the government's own policy on transparency and patient centricity.

Although the formal consultation period has finished, the Government website is here. It includes the statement that "The consultation period has now ended, but if you have any further queries or comments, please email us at us at paymentsystem@monitor.gov.uk. "

If you agree that cuts will hurt the services that you and fellow patients will receive then please act.

There are 2 separate requests from fellow kidney charities.

2. Send a letter of concern to your local MP requesting them to write to the Secretary Of State for Health to express their concerns about these proposals.
